Last Night I Had A Dream

Last night I had a dream, ……unlike any other dream
…I couldn’t really tell, was it real, or somewhere in between
My life……..in-between my life,………and me

And I recognized the boy, ….. so young and quite naïve
Who acted rather coy, and would not listen to a thing
From anyone, not from anyone……...who could see

And then I recognized some dude, who felt he still had more to prove
Who never learned from his mistakes, just how much he had to loose
In his life, to loose in his life………what a fool

Last night I had a dream, unlike any other dream
…I couldn’t really tell, was it real, or somewhere in between
My life……..in-between my life,………and me

And then I saw a married man, ….. found a wife, …. had a plan
..raise the kids, ….be best friends, up until the very end
of her life, end of her life……………..he’d do it all again

(Instrumental)

And then I saw an older man, and I began to understand
..wrinkled face, …..wrinkled hands, Who found it hard, to even stand
On his own, to stand on his own…………ever again

He had that look upon his face, like he was thankful for God’s grace
But you could see there was a trace, where he’d love to take the place
Of that young boy, of that cool dude, of that married man …..that he -once –knew
……a long time ago

(Instrumental)……..

Last night I had a dream, ……..”unlike any other dream”
It’s like I’d seen it all before, up on a movie screen
..Now I know, yeah now I know,…………I can see, it was me

Instrumental and fade
